Press-fit plumbing for heating and water
Press fitting has replaced solder for a lot of heating and plumbing work, and for good reason:
- No flame, so no hot-works permit.
- No flux or cleaning up.
- A consistent joint every time, made in a few seconds.
We stock both press systems installers use most. Each needs its own jaw profile.
Copper M-press fittings are 15mm to 54mm, for copper tube on heating and water systems. They include:
- couplings, reducers and elbows
- 45° bends and tees
- crossovers, tap connectors and threaded adaptors
- lever ball valves
They're pressed with M-profile jaws.
MLCP fittings are for multilayer composite pipe, which is popular for manifold flow and return runs, radiator drops and anywhere you want a flexible pipe that holds its shape. These are pressed with U-profile jaws. Compression versions are available for smaller jobs.
Press tools and jaws. Our electric hydraulic press tool set takes M and U profile jaws, so one tool covers both systems. A manual U-profile tool suits occasional multilayer work.
