Thermostats for electric underfloor heating
Electric underfloor heating needs a thermostat that switches the heating cable directly and reads the floor temperature through a probe laid between the heating runs. The probe protects the floor finish from overheating, which matters most under engineered wood, vinyl and laminate. It also lets the thermostat hold a comfortable, steady floor temperature.
neoStat-e. Heatmiser's smart thermostat for electric floors. Used with a neoHub, it gives app control, schedules and holiday modes. It can run on floor temperature, air temperature or both, and it switches up to 16A.
Slimline-E. A slim, programmable thermostat for electric floors with a clear display. A dependable choice when app control isn't needed.
Check the load. Add up the wattage of the mats or cable on each thermostat and make sure it's within the thermostat's rating. Larger areas may need a contactor or a second thermostat. Spare floor probes are available if one is damaged during tiling.
