Press and compression fittings for multilayer pipe
Multilayer composite pipe (MLCP, PEX-AL-PEX or PERT-AL-PERT) is light, holds its shape when bent and is quick to install. That makes it a favourite for manifold feeds, radiator drops, heat pump connections and general heating pipework. These fittings join it.
Press fittings. U-profile press fittings make a permanent, flame-free joint in seconds with a press tool and U-profile jaws. The range includes:
- equal and reducing straight connectors
- male and female unions
- equal, male, female and swivel elbows
- equal and unequal tees
- wall-plated elbows, radiator elbows
- brass tails to copper
- end caps and lever ball valves
Compression fittings. For smaller jobs or where no press tool is available, compression couplings, elbows and adaptors make a reliable, re-makeable joint with spanners. They include a 16mm PEX to 15mm copper adaptor for joining multilayer to existing copper.
Get the prep right. Cut the pipe square, then ream and chamfer the end before fitting. Most failed multilayer joints come from poor pipe preparation, not the fitting.
