Castellated & In-Screed Panels
Castellated panels hold the pipe between raised studs, so you lay loops fast without clips, then cover them with screed or levelling compound. Choose a panel to suit your pipe size and floor depth. Add UFH pipe and edge insulation. Order by 12pm for next working day UK delivery.
Castellated panels for screeded underfloor heating
Castellated (egg crate) panels are the fastest way to lay underfloor heating pipe in a new screed or under self-levelling compound. The pipe pushes between the raised studs and is held at the right spacing with no clips, rails or tacker. Loops go down quickly, stay where you put them and are easy to adjust before the screed is poured.
Which panel?
- MaxHeatUFH castellated floor panel (1220 x 820mm): for traditional sand and cement or liquid screeds.
- MaxHeatFix panels: low-profile versions for thinner floors. The 600 x 600mm panel takes 12mm pipe; the 1200 x 600mm Plus panel takes 16mm pipe.
- MaxHeatSolo: a self-adhesive egg crate for 12mm pipe. It sticks straight onto a prepared subfloor, ideal for retrofits under levelling compound.
What else you need.
- Fit edge insulation strip around the room before you start, so the screed can expand.
- Choose UFH pipe to suit the panel.
- Pressure test the loops before the screed goes down.
