Valves and plumbing controls for heating systems

This range covers the valves that route and isolate water in a heating system.

Motorised zone valves.

  • A 2-port motorised zone valve opens and closes a single circuit, such as an underfloor heating zone, the radiator circuit or the hot water cylinder, on a signal from a thermostat or wiring centre. Fitting one per circuit lets the system send heat only where it's needed.
  • A 3-port mid-position valve (22mm) splits flow between heating and hot water on Y-plan systems. It can serve both at once when both call for heat.

Isolating valves.

  • Lever ball valves isolate pumps, manifolds and branches for maintenance. They come in copper M-press, MLCP press and WRAS-approved compression versions.
  • 1" manifold ball valve sets and 3/4" valve pairs isolate the UFH manifold and blending valve so they can be serviced without draining the whole system.

Adding underfloor heating to a boiler system? A 2-port valve on the UFH circuit, wired through the UFH wiring centre, is the usual way to call heat from the boiler. Our boiler connection guide shows typical layouts.
