MaxHeatUFH Electric Underfloor Heating Mat 100W/m²

A 100W/m² electric underfloor heating mat for tile and stone floors in well insulated rooms, or over an insulation board where you want comfort warmth rather than primary heat. It's lower output than our 150W/m² mat, which suits en-suites, cloakrooms and new-build rooms with low heat loss.

Why installers use it

• Fast to lay: twin-core cable on a self-adhesive 0.5m wide fibreglass mesh. Roll it out, cut the mesh (never the cable) and turn it to fit the room.
• One connection: a single 3m cold tail runs back to the thermostat.
• Thin: about 3 to 4mm, so it sits in the tile adhesive bed and the floor height barely changes.
• 230V AC: for a standard domestic supply.

Sizes

Each square metre is 100W, so a 5.0m² mat is 500W.

Picking the right size

Measure the free floor area, leaving out kitchen units, baths, shower trays and the toilet. Then choose the mat closest to that figure, without going over it.

• A floor-sensing thermostat: Heatmiser neoStat-e or Heatmiser Slimline-E
• Cement Coated XPS Tile Backer Board to cut heat loss downward, or 6mm Cementitious Tile Backer Board as a tiling base, plus Ultra Prime It Multi-Surface Primer
• Uncoupling Membrane (1m wide roll) on timber or new screed floors

Questions

Can I cut the mat to fit?
Yes, cut the mesh and turn the mat. Never cut the heating cable.

Which output do I need?
100W/m² suits well insulated and low heat loss rooms. For general kitchens and bathrooms, see the 150W/m² mat.

Use a 30mA RCD and install to BS 7671. A qualified electrician must make the final connection.
