From Cardiff, Swansea and Newport to the valleys, Wrexham, Snowdonia and rural Mid and West Wales, we supply water and electric underfloor heating across Wales.
Stone cottages and farmhouses
Traditional Welsh stone and slate homes often have flagstone or slate floors straight onto earth: cold, and sometimes damp. When these are lifted, adding insulation and a screed with underfloor heating gives a warm, dry floor. Slate and stone finishes work very well over underfloor heating because they conduct heat well. See floor coverings over underfloor heating.
Off-grid and heat pumps
Large parts of rural Wales are off the gas grid. Pairing an air source heat pump with underfloor heating is often the most efficient way to replace oil or LPG.
Welsh building regulations
Wales sets its own building regulations, including its own Part L energy requirements. Your building control body or designer will confirm what applies to your project.
Valleys terraces
Narrow terraced houses with timber ground floors suit joisted systems or spreader plates. Kitchens and bathrooms being refitted can use electric underfloor heating.
Supply only, or supply and install
- Supply only: Order by 12 noon for next working day delivery to most addresses in Wales. Delivery cost is shown at checkout.
- Supply and install: we arrange installation through our approved installers, with MaxHeatUFH technical support on every job. As a guide, labour is £20/m² + VAT for clip rail and pipe clipped to insulation in screed, and £25/m² + VAT for other systems, including electric. Send an installation enquiry with your floor plans and we'll confirm the price.
- Installers and builders: apply for a trade account for trade pricing on every order.
Grants
If you're fitting an air source heat pump, the government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme can help with the cost in England and Wales. Check the current grant amount and rules on GOV.UK before you budget. The Welsh Government also runs its own home energy support schemes, so check what's currently available.
