We supply underfloor heating to installers and homeowners across Scotland, from Edinburgh and Glasgow to Aberdeen, Dundee, Inverness and the Borders. One installer working in Edinburgh had a full design and quote from us within three hours, and the products shipped the same day.
Designing for Scottish winters
Scotland's colder design temperatures mean higher heat losses, so the design has to be right. That means good insulation under the floor, pipe centres chosen from each room's heat loss, and a flow temperature that suits the heat source. See underfloor heating heat output and insulation under underfloor heating.
Tenements and sandstone homes
Tenement flats in Edinburgh and Glasgow have timber floors and shared buildings. Low-profile overlay boards or joisted systems keep weight and height down. Check your title deeds and any shared-building rules before floor works. Detached sandstone villas and farmhouses suit in-screed systems where floors are being renewed.
Building Standards
Scotland has its own Building Standards, separate from England's building regulations. Section 6 covers energy, and your designer or verifier will confirm what applies.
Supply only, or supply and install
- Supply only: Delivery cost and timing for your Scottish postcode, including the Highlands and islands, are shown at checkout.
- Supply and install: we arrange installation through our approved installers, with MaxHeatUFH technical support on every job. As a guide, labour is £20/m² + VAT for clip rail and pipe clipped to insulation in screed, and £25/m² + VAT for other systems, including electric. Send an installation enquiry with your floor plans and we'll confirm the price.
- Installers and builders: apply for a trade account for trade pricing on every order.
Grants
Home Energy Scotland offers grant and loan funding for heat pumps and energy improvements in Scotland. Check the current amounts and eligibility with Home Energy Scotland before you budget. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme covers England and Wales only.
