Oil-heated homes
Most homes in Northern Ireland heat with oil, far more than anywhere else in the UK. Underfloor heating works with an oil boiler today, and it's ready for a heat pump later if the floor is designed for a low flow temperature now. See underfloor heating with a boiler and with a heat pump.
Self-builds and rural homes
Northern Ireland has a strong self-build tradition, with many detached rural homes. A new build is the best time for pipe-in-screed: clip the pipe to the insulation, screed over, and the whole ground floor becomes the heat emitter. See how to install water underfloor heating.

Supply only, or supply and install
- Supply only: Delivery cost and timing for your Northern Ireland postcode are shown at checkout.
- Supply and install: we arrange installation through our approved installers, with MaxHeatUFH technical support on every job. As a guide, labour is £20/m² + VAT for clip rail and pipe clipped to insulation in screed, and £25/m² + VAT for other systems, including electric. Grants
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme does not apply in Northern Ireland. Check NI Direct and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive for any current local energy schemes.
