MaxHeatUFH Electric Underfloor Heating Loose Cable, 10W/m or 20W/m
Product details
MaxHeatUFH loose-lay twin-core electric underfloor heating cable for tile and stone floors. Press it between the studs of our uncoupling membrane at the spacing you need, then tile straight over. It's ideal for awkward, L-shaped or small rooms where a mat won't fit. Choose the cable, then the length.
Why installers use it
- Fits any shape: lay it around pans, pedestals and odd corners.
- Two outputs: 10W/m for close spacing and even, gentle heat. 20W/m gives twice the output per metre, so wider spacing and fewer metres. The 20W/m cable can also be laid in a screed.
- One end to connect: twin core with an earth screen and a single cold tail.
- You set the output: the spacing decides the W/m².

Lengths
10W/m: 5m (50W), 10m (100W), 20m (200W), 30m (300W), 40m (400W), 50m (500W), 60m (600W), 80m (800W), 100m (1000W), 120m (1200W), 140m (1400W), 160m (1600W).
20W/m: 10m (200W), 20m (425W), 30m (650W), 40m (830W), 50m (970W), 60m (1270W), 70m (1410W), 80m (1620W), 90m (1890W), 100m (1980W), 125m (2530W).
Choosing the length
The heating cable can't be cut. Measure the free floor area, choose the output you want, then pick the length whose wattage is closest to area x W/m². For example, 4m² at 150W/m² needs about 600W, which is the 10W/m 60m cable at 65mm spacing.

- A floor-sensing thermostat: Heatmiser neoStat-e or Heatmiser Slimline-E
- Uncoupling Membrane (1m wide roll) to hold the cable at the right spacing
Questions
Can I cut the cable to length?
No. The heating cable can't be cut. Choose a length that fits the heated area at your spacing.
Can I lay it in screed?
The 20W/m cable can be laid in a screed. The 10W/m cable is for laying in the tile bed over the membrane.
Use a 30mA RCD and install to BS 7671. A qualified electrician must make the final connection.
