MaxHeatChip Grooved Chipboard Panel (22mm)
Product details
MaxHeatChip is a 22mm grooved chipboard panel for water underfloor heating on joisted floors. It is P5 moisture-resistant chipboard with the pipe grooves already cut, so you screw it down to the joists and press the pipe straight in. Choose the version for 12mm or 16mm pipe, in 1200 x 600mm or 2400 x 600mm boards.
Why installers use it
- Grooves at 150mm centres: four grooves per board, set out and ready for the pipe.
- Radius returns at both ends: the pipe can turn back at the end of each board without extra cutting.
- P5 moisture-resistant: 22mm P5 grade chipboard for joisted floors.
- Two lengths: 2400 x 600mm boards cover more floor with fewer joints. 1200 x 600mm boards are easier to carry and fit in small rooms.

How much do I need?
A 1200 x 600mm board covers 0.72m². A 2400 x 600mm board covers 1.44m². Divide the floor area by the board area and round up, with a few extra for cuts. If you'd like the loops designed for you, send us your plans.

Which pipe fits?
Order the version that matches your pipe's outside diameter: 12mm or 16mm. The product codes ending in -16 are for 16mm pipe.
What goes on top of the chipboard?
Our 6mm foil-backed fibre top board is made to lay over routed chipboard panels once the pipe is in. It gives a flat surface for the floor finish.
