Loft conversion: low-profile cement-faced overlay underfloor heating

MaxHeatDeck cement-faced overlay board build-up

In a loft conversion, head height is the hardest thing to find. Every millimetre added to the floor comes off the room. We supplied a low-profile overlay system that adds as little height as possible.

The system

  • Floor system: 20mm cement-faced XPS overlay boards
  • Pipe: 16mm PERT-AL-PERT pipe
  • Controls: Heatmiser neoAir wireless thermostat with app control

Why underfloor heating suits lofts

Sloping ceilings and dormer walls leave little room for radiators. Underfloor heating frees every wall and heats the room evenly from below. A wireless thermostat avoids running new cables down through the house.
